$500m+ invested over the past decade.

Our substantial investments across Bankstown and Camden airports include purpose-built hangars and facilities for NSW Police and Toll Aviation NSW Ambulance, multiple new aviation hangars, a new Automatic Weather Information System at Bankstown, upgrades to airfield ground lighting, taxiways and runways, upgraded roads, car parks and stormwater infrastructure, new perimeter fencing and enhanced security, and the refurbishment of World War II-era hangars at Camden.

Aviation Hangar ProjectThe approved project will deliver two new aircraft hangar buildings for up to 10 operations at Bankstown Airport, and our Aviation Microsites Development Program will continue to provide new and upgraded facilities.
Community aviationWe are proud to support essential community aviation — our partnership with Little Wings, and clubs including the Royal Aero Club of NSW, Scouts Australia, Australian Air Force Cadets, Australian Army Cadets and Moorebank Air League.

Advanced Air Mobility.

Metro General Aviation airports are well placed to support Advanced Air Mobility — electric and hydrogen-powered aircraft and drones. Our submission to the Aviation Green Paper called for an Aviation Infrastructure Fund, an Aviation Innovation Fund, a whole-of-airspace review for key capital cities, and streamlined approvals for innovation projects.

Southeast VFR Corridor03

AMG supports CASA’s proposal for a new flight corridor southeast of Bankstown Airport — reducing airspace risk in the constrained Bankstown control zone, improving access to Sydney flight training areas, and providing equitable access for airspace users as Western Sydney International changes the Sydney Basin.

Western Sydney International04

Airspace and flight path changes from WSI will significantly impact general aviation in the Sydney Basin. We continue to advocate for mitigation — government funding for general aviation, delivery of the Southeast VFR Corridor, an airspace review of the Sydney Basin, and support for flight schools adopting emerging aviation technologies.
