Our recently refurbished passenger terminal is at the heart of Bankstown Airport, located at the southern end of Airport Avenue, and is available for use by our customers including aviation operators and their guests. Airside access is available at the central apron area at the intersection of Taxiway K and Taxiway L.
The Passenger Terminal includes the Terminal Lounge, Transit Area and the outside Airport Viewing Area. The Terminal Lounge and meeting rooms are available for private use or functions on request. Please contact Aeria Management Group; terms and conditions may apply.

Air traffic control
Bankstown Airport’s dedicated Air Traffic Control Tower is operated by Airservices Australia and uses Class D airspace procedures. Outside Air Traffic Control hours the airport operates under CTAF. Tower operating hours are detailed in the En Route Supplement Australia (ERSA).
Runways, taxiways and aprons
Bankstown Airport has three runways. The primary runway (11C/29C) is 1416m x 30m and is rated up to 20 tonnes MTOW. Only select taxiways and aprons are rated up to 20 tonnes MTOW. Further information is contained within the ERSA.
Aircraft weight exemption
Aircraft greater than 20 tonnes MTOW are required to obtain approval from the airport operator prior to arrival by submitting a Request for Pavement Concession form.
Aircraft parking
Casual aircraft parking for itinerant users is available along Taxiway K (apron) and Taxiways K, L and M (grass).
Lighting and navigational aids
Runway 11C/29C has three-stage medium intensity edge lights and a Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI). A Non-Directional Beacon (NDB) is located at Bankstown Airport, and the primary runway has an NDB and Area Navigation (RNAV) instrument approach.
Aircraft fuelling
Bankstown Airport is serviced by the following aviation fuel suppliers:
- AirBP (AVGAS, F34, JET A1)
- World Fuel Services (AVGAS, JET A1)
- Viva Energy Aviation (AVGAS, JET A1, JETPLUS)

Airspace and air traffic control
The airport operates under Class D airspace procedures with a vertical limit of 2,000 feet and a radius of approximately two nautical miles. The Air Traffic Control Tower operates from 8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday through Sunday. Aircraft entering the Camden CTR must first obtain a clearance from Airservices prior to entry. Outside tower hours the CTR reverts to a Common Traffic Advisory Frequency (CTAF), and pilots must follow the rules and procedures published by CASA.
The preferred runway direction is Runway 06. At night or in instrument conditions, all operations are generally processed through the main runway (Runway 06/24).
Runways, taxiways and aprons
Camden Airport has one sealed runway, one grass runway and two grass glider strips. The primary asphalt runway is 1,464 metres in length and is a Code 2 runway servicing flying training and general aviation arrivals and departures. Asphalt and grass taxiways allow access to all runways; all taxiways have a maximum pavement strength of 5,700 kg, with a limited number of exemptions above that weight. Further information is contained within the ERSA.
Aircraft parking
Casual aircraft parking for itinerant users is primarily grass parking, with some asphalt hardstand parking available at the south-eastern end of Taxiway D.
Lighting and navigational aids
Runway 06/24 has low intensity runway lighting with 90 metre spacing between edge lights, and the main taxiway (Taxiway D) is fitted with taxiway edge lighting. The lighting system can be activated by the Air Traffic Control Tower or by a pilot using the Pilot Activated Aerodrome Lighting (PAL) system. The tower, operated by Airservices, is on the southern side of the main runway. An illuminated wind direction indicator is situated on the southern side of Runway 06/24, with a secondary indicator adjacent to the glider strips.
Aircraft fuelling
Camden Airport is serviced by a refuelling facility operated by Air BP–Skyfuel, located adjacent to the main aircraft parking area.
